Vera is a main character of the story "The Open window" She is a calm and confident girl of fifteen. She is living wither aunt Mrs. Sappleton in a village. Vera is sitting in the drawing room. Her aunt is busy in some work upstairs. Meanwhile Framton Nuttel arrives there from the city. He is suffering from nerve ailment. The doctors have advised him to stay in a peaceful place of a village for a few days It will improve his health. He has a letter of introduction from his sister for Mrs. Sappleton.
Who is Vera in the Open Window
Vera talks with him in drawing room. The French window of the room is open. vera tells him a fake story about the window. She says her aunt's husband and her two brothers went out with their dog for hunting three years ago. There never came back. They were drowned in the marshes with their dog. Their bodies are not recovered. She says that this incident affected her aunt's brain badly. Her aunt hopes that they will return home from that widow. So she keeps the window open till late at night. Mr. Nuttle feels very sorry to Mrs Seppleton. Now Mrs Sappleton arrives there. she says than her husband and two brothers have gone for hunting in the morning. She says that they will arrives soon from the window. Mr. Nuttel is upset on the contrast between the statement of vera and her aunt.
Nuttel run away from Mrs.sappleton'Home
Meanwhile a man and two boys with the dog are seen from the window. There clothes are full of mud. Mrs.sappleton tells that her husband and two brothers have arrived. At this, Nuttel is upset. He think that they are ghosts of her husband and two brothers. so he run away from the home without a word of goodbye.😄
We can therefore say that Vera is responsible for all confusion which upset framton Nuttel.
