Define Rest and Motion with Examples
The term Rest is used when an object or a body do not change its position according to its surrounding or adjoining. But if it changes its position or do some movement, then this term is known as motion because body is not in rest. It is changing its position with respect to its surrounding or adjoining.
What is the relationship between Rest and Motion give example?
For example if a boy is sitting in a car, the boy is in rest with respect to that car, But a person who is watching him while sitting in the bus, according to that person boy is changing its position (in motion) or in moving state.
Concept of rest and motion in physics.
Types of motion in Physics
- Translatory motion (linear , random and circular)
- Rotatory motion
- Vibratory motion
Types of Translatory motion with examples
if a body or object moves along a line, it means that the object is not rotating, Then this type of motion or movement is said to be Translatory motion
Example of Translatory motion
Example of Translatory Motion in Physics
The most common example in the sense of indoor games is carom board. A coin moves in straight direction on a carom board.
Types of Translatory
There are three types of Translatory motion are a follows
- linear motion
- random motion
- circular motion
What is Meant linear motion?
if a body or any object moves along a straight line, it motion is said to be Linear motion. It can be also a straight curve. But main condition is that is should be straight.
What is random motion example?
If a body or any object moves in irregular way or in random way, then it is said to be random motion. Note that it is self explanatory because of its name. So movement of object will be in irregular way.
What is circular motion?
if any body or any object moves in circular direction/way, then its movement is called circular. Its main condition is that the body should not move in straight direction.
What is Rotatory Motion give Example?
A type of motion in which a body or object moves around its Axis. In physics the term Axis means an invisible (unnoticeable or discreet) line around which a body or object rotates.
Example of Rotatory motion
The movement of a wheel around its axis.
Vibratory Motion Examples
In simple manners:
To and for motion of a body or any object about its mean position is said to be vibratory motion. it means that the body moves from its real position then repeat its movement.
Example of vibratory motion
The usual example from our daily life is the baby sitting on a swing. Note that the baby moves from its real position and then repeats it
